Who We Are
Wisconsin’s First Congressional District (CD1) spans five counties, including Kenosha, Milwaukee (southern portion), Racine, Rock (partial), and Walworth County. With a mix of urban, suburban, and rural areas, CD1 represents a broad range of constituent voices.
We work to elect a Democratic US Congressional Representative who reflects the values of our diverse communities. Through grassroots organizing, civic education, and year-round engagement, we aim to expand participation in democracy and ensure that every voice is heard, every vote is counted, and every person has a seat at the table.
According to Data USA, as of 2023, the population of CD1 was 732,332, with a median age of 40.3 and median household income of $77,277.

Now' the Time to Ask Your Questions!
As voters prepare to shape the future of Wisconsin’s First Congressional District, the CD1 Executive Board and the Kenosha County Democratic Party are bringing Democratic candidates together for an important public forum ahead of the August 11 primary election.
Community members are invited to hear directly from the candidates about their vision for the district, the challenges facing Wisconsin families, and the future direction of the country at a moderated Candidate Forum.
The forum will take place on Friday, June 5, at University of Wisconsin–Parkside in The Student Center Cinema, located at 920 Wood Road, Kenosha. The facility is ADA compliant and offers theater-style seating with ample parking available for attendees.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the moderated forum running from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Help Kick the B.S. Out of D.C.

Washington GOP politicians have voted in lockstep with MAGA leadership, the Trump regime, and powerful lobbyists representing billionaires grifting the American people. It’s time to kick them to the curb! To mobilize voters across Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, Rock, and Milwaukee counties, CD1 is launching a $10,000 fundraising campaign to engage voters ahead of the November 2026 elections.

Thank you for standing up for Wisconsin values. As goes Wisconsin, so goes the nation.
A Good Time Was Had!
The enthusiasm in the room was palpable as constituents from Congressional District 1 gathered for our annual convention. The motto— “Leading the Fight, Building Momentum, Winning Together”—was echoed throughout the event by speakers.
Speakers included Joshua Taylor, WISDEMS Second Vice Chair and these elected state officials and candidates: Ben DeSmidt, Tip McGuire, John Perryman, Trevor Jung, Mandela Barnes, David Crowley, Francesca Hong, Sara Rodriguez, JoCasta Zamarripa, Dylan Helmenstine, Yee Leng Xiong, Mitchell Berman, Lorenzo Santos, Ryan Schroeder, and Robert Wirch. Brienne Brown, Kelda Roys, and Miguel Aranda joined via video recordings. Unfortunately, Greta Neubauer and Randy Bryce had family emergencies and could not attend.
Entertainment was provided by Walworth County's Raging Grannies and the fundraising effort to "Kick the B.S. out of D.C." enjoyed tremendous success.

Where We Are
In 2022, the Wisconsin Supreme Court selected a new map for the First Congressional District, which remains the current map for the District despite recent attempts at another revision. While gerrymandered congressional maps continue to favor Republicans in Wisconsin, CD1 is considered a competitive swing district. Redistricting efforts have reaffirmed the importance of voter rights and fair representation.

What We Believe
As Wisconsin Democrats, we advocate for economic fairness, strong public education, affordable healthcare, and reproductive freedom, while protecting the environment and supporting worker's rights. We prioritize voting access, fair representation, and inclusive communities where ALL residents can thrive. Our vision emphasizes opportunity for working families, investment in local communities, and safeguarding Wisconsin's natural resources for future generations.
